If you have time and are near a radio (they're downloadable as well),
three stories on old school Jamaican music will be running today, Monday
and Tuesday on PRI's The World. Today I feature a reconstruction of DJ
Dice's playlist at the Sunday night sound system in Rae Town, Kingston.
Monday, DJ Spooky helps us understand the rise and fall of the scene in
Kingston the 60s and 70s. And Tuesday, we'll feature a story about the
Alpha Boys School, an orphanage in Kingston from which emerged some of
the country's great musicians and which is still fostering musical
dreams for boys from troubled backgrounds.
Check local listings for The World at

Have a great weekend.
