[FA Worldmusic] Fwd: Your question about Historical Women in World Music

So then as the list gets longer and longer, the question becomes:

Which ones would you put at the top of the list based on historical  
importance?

The original question was not about which women are the best, or even  
most significant in their countries/cultures/genres, but presumably  
"historically important" in a way that far transcends those settings.
