(somewhat reminiscent of soca) - check Keimoun

more connected to Watina would be the Paranda compilation

as well as Aurelio Martinez's gorgeous album Garifuna Soul.

Very sad news, and I too am hoping for a miracle of recovery.

Besides the stunning album Watina, can folks recommend
some other albums of his?  I was completely in the dark
about him and Garifuna music and culture until it came
out.

Also, any recommendations for travel in Belize?  I found
out yesterday that I might be going there this
winter/spring.  Obviously any music-related suggestions
would be great, but anything off the main tourist path
would be nice too.
