[FA Worldmusic] A request please. :)

Hi All,

I enjoy this group though I rarely post. I do ask that when you respond to a
post, please just copy the relevant portion. I get the digest form, and the
following is a typical thing I've been getting when you reply the whole digest.
I get to where I just want to delete on sight as finding the new message is
like looking for a needle in a haystack sometimes.

Keep on with the discussions, I love them.

Re: Surge of Diplomacy

No Marco, I don't think for one minute you are "smoking crack" but
unfortunately, I do think that you are dreaming of something that is
unrealistic. If we sent one million unarmed volunteers, conflict resolution
people, clones of Mother Theresa, we would probably have thousands of
hostages and lots of dead bodies coming back in return for this goodwill.

I pray and I wish that these kinds of methods would bear fruit and show the
world the best of our intentions. We are dealing with forces and people who
do not see any difference between the unarmed American doctor or teacher and
the armed American soldier. They see both as representatives of an ideology
where people are allowed to live and think freely. To express themselves in
any way they choose. To criticize those in power without fear of reprisal.
To question religious dogma - the list goes on an on.

I'm no neocon. But I've been living over here in the Middle East for a year
now and I can tell you that it's a whole different world over here and
people think very differently than we do in the West. I do think that we as
musicians and artists can have a positive effect on the future and we should
never give up the hope for peace.
