This is certainly becoming an issue for us, our young bands are still
willing to come and not make a huge amount to establish themselves but the
older more established artists are not so inclined

Yes, Marguerite, I support a discussion on this topic at APAP, especially in
the NA presenters session.
This has become an issue for our agency. Started with our foreign based
groups declining to tour during the high cost summer months. Now bands that
have toured steady twice a year for many years are talking of cutting back
to one tour per year. If the established acts can't make the numbers work
with the dollar tanking, how will new artists be able to afford to invest in
developing a North American presence?
On the up side it has become easier and increasingly attractive to our US
based artists to tour Europe and Canada.
