Re: [FA Worldmusic] Fw: Reject Racism! Support The Marcel
KhalifeConcert in San Diego!
hi marguerite,
i'll try to assist you on your question. it is important to use
correct language when describing these various organizations. Ian
Menzies (Calgary) is the current chair of the incorporated (501C-3)
non profit organization developed to advance / advocate for the
interests of world music in north america.

i would suggest that an open email listserv discussion group is not
the place to sanction action that you've suggested. if that is
determined to be the business of NAWMC it would be a discreet
decision done in camera with a formal proposal, vote and an
evaluation on whether it is or isn't the business / mission of the
organization.
since you've been subscribed to the ad hoc listserv for North
American (world music) Presenters since its inception, you shouldn't
be confused that is enjoys no incorporation, board, chair or means to
take the action you suggest. bill bragin and i co-host that private
email list for the advancement of world music booking business.
there is no such thing as the NA presenters Coalition.
give ian or another pal a call and see if there is momentum for your idea.
all the best,
derek.
