The beauty of it is that Radiohead is saying a big f*** you to the
record business, making a point of trusting its fans, of recognizing
that anyone who is determined to get the music for free will be able to
do so anyway, so why not get it from the legitimate source and drum up
some major attention for it while they're at it? and of course it
doesn't hurt that Radiohead is already quite successful and can afford
such a gesture. Meanwhile, the serious fans WILL buy the special package
the band is releasing with extra tracks and artwork, etc. And it may
also end up making even more fans who will buy concert tickets and merch.

Everyone wins!

Except the major record companies.
