A while back the Lila Wallace Readers Digest Fund supported a national Jazz 
Network which attempted to foster and fund national touring of jazz groups 
as well as facilitate the notion of block booking, opportunities in less 
likely locales like cities off the airline grid - people on this list like 
John Gailbraith and Alison Loerke, and Sarah Warner from the Mid-Atlantic 
Foundation were involved and I think it was a good idea that may be able to 
be duplicated with support from a very large foundation or underwritten with 
corporate support
