Hi all,
Somewhat in relation to the music / film discussion of earlier this week is
the MOFFOM (Music on Film / Film on Music) festival in Prague. We attended
the festival last year (thanks to a chance visit to Prague), and really
enjoyed the programming and atmosphere. The festival had pretty good
attendance by a lovely all-ages audience (both natives and tourists), and
the late-evening live performances were particuarly fun.
Please see below for information on this year's call for entry.
Best,
Ljova

To Whom It May Concern:
We are proud to announce that the Music on Film-Film on Music (MOFFOM),
International Festival of Music Films will take place in Prague, Czech
Republic from 18th till 22nd of October 2007 now in its fourth year.
MOFFOM is an international festival focused on introducing films from around
the world which are strongly related to the theme of music. For those five
days of the festival, filmmakers and audiences are able to interact in a
friendly environment that attracts a wide variety of music lovers. Since
2004, MOFFOM has presented over 250 music films including documentary,
dramatic feature, experimental music shorts and music videos from 40
countries worldwide. Within the broad spectrum of "music on film" we place
special emphasis on music documentary portraits.
The Call for Entries is now open, with a deadline of 15th of June, 2007
(postmarked). All types of music films including feature film, documentary,
and animation are invited to submit in order to be shown at MOFFOM 2007.
Documentaries completed since August 2005 are eligible for the non-jury
Audience Award competition, for which a main prize of approximately 3000
Euro will be awarded to the winning film as determined by audience vote. A
full list of Regulations and online Entry Forms, as well as extensive
information about the festival itself, are available online at
www.moffom.org.
The festival will complete its program by 15th of July, and announce the
program to the public. Also we would like you to inform us by e-mail once
you send the tape in order to prevent miscommunication or delivery error.
We hope we will have a chance to present films from your company at our
festival in Prague this October.
Truly yours,
John Caulkins
