1.) On May 26th & 27th, Joe's Pub presented terrific live performances by Orquesta TCB-pica FernCB!ndez Fierro, the first, most influential and popular "New Tango" orchestra in Argentina. Lead by charismatic singer Walter "Chino" Laborde, this 12 piece powerful ensemble is responsible for stirring up a revolution in the Argentine and European tango scenes. Their FernCB!ndez Fierro Social Club in Buenos Aires has become the ultimate destination for fans of all ages, even inspiring the pilgrimage of hundreds of fans from all over the globe.
The group was also in New York City to celebrate the upcoming release of their documentary "Orquesta TCB-pica" by Brooklyn filmmaker Nicolas Entel, courtesy of Eliza Wagner / ICP Productions. For more information on the film visit www.orquestatipica.com
Both OTFF's performances and the musical documentary film are most impressive. Carlos Gutierrez can be reached for more info re: band bookings and film screenings at: Carlos at cinematropical.com
