[FA Worldmusic] new international festival on South Padre Island

I have recently been hired as a member of the talent buying team for the
inaugural South Padre International Music Festival to be held November
1-4, 2007. For those who might not know, Padre Island is a barrier island
along the Texas Gulf Coast. The festival will be located on the southmost
end of the island near Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley and across
the border from Matamoros. This multi-venue event will feature an
eclectic musical lineup and will include free inter-venue transportation
in the wristband price.

Im soliciting suggestions on world music bands that meet all the
following criteria:

  1. Recently-released CD or will release one in the fall.

  2. Management, publicity, and radio promoter behind that CD.

  3. Previous touring in Mexico and/or Texas.

  4. Are available in the timeframe
