Greetings-this is a very busy week on Afropop.org with several new
features. I thought you might appreciate Banning Eyre's report and
photos from the extraordinary once in a lifetime gathering of some 30
Sudanese, including one charismatic singer from Darfur,
last Saturday at Central Park SummerStage:

My report and photos from my field work this May from Ethiopia about
what's happening now musically:

If you have not heard yet, you can listen to current Afropop Worldwide
programs anytime through our new on-demand streaming service. Current
programs include: history and culture from the Zulus and Colombians:

This is the time of year when we ask you for your testimonial to submit
with our annual grant to the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA
DOES pay attention to what the public thinks of their grantees service.
So please take a few minutes to write a brief paragraph about the value
of our radio program, streaming service, web site, e-Newsletter. Send
email to info at afropop.org with subject "testimonial." We need this by
Labor Day. Mucho gracias.
