 Fascinating! Thanks for posting this, Steve. Times sure have changed. Back in the '80s when I was doing music research in Nicaragua, I founded the Bluefields Project and had to travel around the US making presentations for clusters of people, collecting money & resources to support a variety of Atlantic Coast cultural institutions. At least if the internet had existed, it would have that much easier. And of course I couldn't get grants because there was an embargo at that time...
