PRESS RELEASE
SPECIAL EDITION: Peace in Ctte d'Ivoire, MASA 2007 for 5 Cities.
July 28 - August 12, 2007

After several postponements because of the
socio-political situation in Ctte d'Ivoire for
three years, MASA is back on the African stage in
a special edition.

The first part of that event will be an
international round table gathering several
intellectuals from various fields on the theme +
Democracy, Democratic Culture: End-of-Crisis and
Peace in Africa ;, which will be held in
Yamoussoukro from July 23 to 27, 2007.
The final dates and venues for the shows are now known:

a) Abidjan: from July 28 to August 11, 2007, for
theatre, creation dances and music.
b) The other cities (Bouaki, Korhogo, Man,
Daloa): from August 9 to 12, 2007, for music.
While keeping its traditional market, festival
and meetings for professionals for performing
arts features, the 2007 program of MASA provides
new African creations in theatre, dancing and
music.

In order to highlight the special feature of this
Special Edition, this choice made by the
International Selection Committee of MASA with
its usual rigor, will be shortly completed with
an additional list comprising many Ivorian and
African renowned musicians who have agreed to
come as a token of solidarity to Ctte d'Ivoire
and Africa.

This program is provisional. It is made up of 23
selected artistic troupes from 17 African
countries including: 9 in theatre, 4 in creation
dancing and 10 in music.

The final program, especially for music, will be release later on.
