AYNUR!!  Kurdish female singer/musician who was featured in 2005's "Crossing the Bridge," a great film about music in Istanbul.  She has an absolutely amazing voice and will be at WOMEX this fall.  No doubt she'll make a huge splash if she hasn't already.  As far as I know she just has an international agent but not one focused specifically on the US.  
   
  She has two albums available through Tulumba.com.  Turkish label.
