A couple of "Canadian" suggestions for your show:
For Somlian music, you definitely want to consider K'Naan
(http://www.thedustyfoot.com/), who's nominated for a 2007 BBC World Music
Award (Best Newcomer). He's now based in Toronto, but his music is rooted
in his native Somalia. Not sure if his CD is released in the U.S., but it
can be acquired on his website. A real talent.
Last January, CBC Radio produced a wonderful concert here in Toronto
titled "Horn of Africa" with a large number of musicians based here, but
originating in Somalia, Sudan and Eritrea. A large part of that concert
has been re-broadcast several times on the CBC. It's possible you may be
able to acquire and play some songs from it. The log from one of the
re-broadcasts is here:

I can email you offline the email address of the concert's producer, Todd
Fraracci.
