And just to let you know what the content is, here are the panel
descriptions and panelists. And while we of course would love to see
everyone register for APAP, we also recognize that for some, it's not
necessarily totally relevent, or within one's budget. We are grateful
that Arts Presenters gives us the space for these panels without
requiring that people be registered for the conference. So you can come
to attend these, buy your tickets for globalFEST and attend some of the
myriad of other world music showcases and concerts, such as concerts by
Haale, Brooklyn Qawwalli Party, and maya Beiser with Bassam Saba and
Jamey Haddad at Joe's Pub, GlobeSonic's party on Sat Jan 12 at Drom,
and many other events I believe Dmitri will be compiling as per usual,
and have a world music immersion weekend regardless.

(Bill or Derek, can you please post to the NA Presenters?)

REMINDER as it seems I have spoken to a few folks who were not tracking
on
this when they booked their Arts Presenters travel...

Those who will be attending Arts Presenters (or will be very close by),
just a
reminder that Alison Loerke and the North American World Music Coalition
haVE
once again organized some preconference sessions on Friday 1/11/08, 9
am- 12
noon in NYC. This is one of those rare chances for all the players in
the
field to be in the same room hashing stuff out, connecting, and all
that. And
"world music professionals" you do not need to be registered for the
conference to attend these sessions (though all are encouraged to
register
too, continuing to increase the global musical perspective at this
influential
conference!).

Hope to see you there!

Much respect,
