[FA Worldmusic] Radio Promo with MP3s preference request

I bet Ashwin and I are not the only ones curious to hear
folk's responses, so I'm replying to the list and would
encourage others to do the same.

For me (and I suspect many others) at this point, an
internet-based promo puts a release at a disadvantage to a
physical release received in the mail.

Since only a small number of releases come to me in MP3
format, and there are some small inconveniences to review
and add these, they are often the first ones to get
ignored. I am trying to change my process to incorporate
them better. If it warrants an add, it requires me to
burn the CD and figure out how to best physically package
the burned copy to add to our library. Usually this
involves searching for an image of the album cover to
print, scrounging up a spare jewel case, etc.

As a DJ picking a tune, I'm more inclined to grab a
digipak or jewel case with artwork than one of the burned
CDs without proper artwork, so the disadvantage
continues...

I'm curious how other stations are overcoming these
inconveniences to incorporate this growing stream of
music.

And, how are labels/promoters making this work? What kind
of results or trends are you seeing?

Personally, I believe sending a large file in email is a
bit inappropriate - I'd rather get the link to download,
even though it takes a few extra clicks.

And yes, Ashwin, I would like to get the new tunes in
whatever format. Thanks!
