>From American Arts Alliance announcement today:
On Monday, April 16, 2007, a final, corrected rule was published in the
Federal Register. Beginning May 16, 2007 visa petitioners will be able
submit I-129 applications for O or P visas up to a maximum of one year in
advance of their need for the foreign artist9s services.
Thank you to everyone who submitted comments. In their press release USCIS
said, 3The decision to extend the timeline results from comments received
after USCIS first proposed the rule in April 2005.2 Your comments made a
difference!
Performing arts organizations continue to face challenges when bringing
international artists into the United States. The American Arts Alliance, in
concert with the Performing Arts Visa Task Force will continue to work with
USCIS and the State Department to make the O and P visa process efficient,
reliable, and affordable.
