Hello all....I don't often email this list as most of my artists are very
Celtic in nature, however, Baka Beyond, which is Afro-Celtic by listing, but
really is much more World oriented, needs help on a date this coming August.
We have Friday, August 17th open. This date is just after a show in East
Hartford, CT on the 16th and before shows at Philadelphia Folk Festival and
Knowlton River Fest in NJ on Sat the 18th. Need routing that works. Could be NY,
NJ, PA, DC, etc.
The seven person band is very high energy, and involved with the Baka
tribe in Cameron Africa. They are very involved with rain forest renewal. They
mix in a great fiddle from Paddy LeMercier, and sing in both Gaelic and Baka
languages. They have done most major fests, and things like Disney Epcot series,
and were the only band from Edmonton Folk Festivals 2006 line up to be invited
back for 2007.
For full info on the band go to my web at www.rgmbooking.com, click on
the books, then bands info/tour dates section, then Baka Beyond.
There is a full history, photos, links to their site, as well as past
tour dates.
It really is a great show, so if anyone is interested in doing that date,
or knows a good venue for us, please let me know.
Thanks.
All the best, Pat
