A few weeks back, Brad at Calabash posted about us all becoming the new media.
Rather than relying on existing media outlets to cover "our music" more.

I wanted to share with you as a case study the first rock paper scissors
podcast: an interview with Matt Moran, the man behind Slavic Soul Party!

Matt talks about sneaking up the backstairs of a Serbian neighbor as an early
musical influence, demonstrates how SSP! has funkified Balkan rhythms, and
further explores his band's fusion of Balkan brass, Brooklyn beats, and New
Orleans jazz. He also tells how Teknochek Collision got its name from an auto
mechanic-slash-independent-filmmaker in Queens. It's less than 10 minutes of
stories I hope you find compelling:

But it is our first one and we have already made recording improvements for
next time. It's really labor intensive (or so it seems from the intern who has
been doing all the work!) and gives me a lot of renewed appreciation for all
our radio friends who do this day in and day out. The hope was that we could
take the work we already do to try and develop interesting story angles and
"easily" leverage it further in this form. We try and interview as many of our
client artists as possible as a means for helping to find their story, but it
turns out it is not as simple as "just recording and posting it." But maybe
we'll get into a flow where we will post them less edited next time.

Enjoy and let me know what yuh think. Constructive feedback appreciated.

Much respect,

Dmitri Vietze
