Does anyone out there have a reliable source for statistics on world
rankings in public school music education? I'm writing a story about
how Canadian music education is taking a cue from the US (heavy reliance
on testing in literacy and math leads to short-shrift for "low priority"
subjects like art and music), and I wanted some comparitive numbers on
where the US and Canada rank globally in terms of per pupil spending for
music ed in a random mix of countries. What country spends the most?
The least? Where do the US and Canada sit?
Thanks. Marco Werman
