Greetings y'all
 So Bill Br you were there! Missed you - was looking forward to seeing you
on our annual encounter!

Thanks so much to Alison L for inviting me to the N American networking
meeting. It was great to get a grip on the fuller picture - and I was
impressed with how it was done - very effective! We used to have Modal in
UK, but it has demised  and we don't even have a network. I'm taking courage
from yours to make even more noise UK side now. There is the beginnings of a
new network amongst some of us - so watch this space. I found the initial
encounter very useful and it both enhanced existing good relations with N A
delegates and was a bridge to meeting new people.

We plan to start a Yahoo style group with those who came to the 'Women of
the World' session I co-ran to build a network of women - and open minded
men. This will be opened up to all women. delegates soon - will inform, but
don't have original start up list from womex yet. Hopefully we'll be able to
do something like an off womex session early on next year to orientate
ourselves.

Music - loved CHENG YU and the SILK STRING QUARTET - virtuoso playing, great
tunes : TCHEKE - just right ambience at the end of a demanding day - welcome
real music space, oddly enough Kinky Beat - for the sheer energy of the 99%
Spanish crowd more than anything, Niyaz - very interesting - they deserved a
diamond/crystal sound = but ...! Must have been quite nerve-wracking at
items for those presenting showcase artists. Even with better sound it was
for me when I have showcased artists.

Overall - good . proof on da feedback after the hard work of touching base
with the myriad of cardholders who took my rosta stuff...Fibes worked much
better thanlast time -so it can only improve!
