[FA Worldmusic] Memphis world music ideas?

A colleague of mine is going to Memphis to do some stories about
immigration.  She is keen to produce a music story while she's there.
I've been giving it some thought, but I'm drawing blanks.  Anybody know
of a good world music tale down in Memphis?  Malian percussionists who
are session musicians for C&W singers?  Japanese rockers who are trying
to live out their "Mystery Train" fantasy?
